A popular Halloween tradition is making popcorn balls, which are great for parties or for giving to trick-or-treaters. Both children and adults will enjoy these sticky and sweet treats.
Ingredients:
- 12 cups popped popcorn
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup miniature marshmallows
- Halloween-themed sprinkles optional
Instructions:
Popcorn should be put in a big bowl
Melt butter in a saucepan over a medium heat
Add salt, brown sugar, and corn syrup and stir
Bring to a boil while stirring all the time
Boil for four minutes without stirring
Take off the heat and mix in the marshmallows and vanilla extract until smooth and melted
After adding mixture to popcorn, toss to coat evenly
Form mixture into balls with buttered hands and press down firmly
Roll balls in sprinkles with a Halloween theme if you want to add an extra festive touch
Transfer to wax paper to cool and solidify
